RunDiffusion for NVIDIA Omniverse connects image generation and supported 3D tools to your scene. This guide covers installation, account connection, your first generation and saving the results you want to keep.

Before you install

RunDiffusion installs from your Omniverse application’s Extensions window. Omniverse access must be enabled for your RunDiffusion account before you can sign in.

  • Operating system: Windows.
  • Omniverse app: An application built on Kit 110.1.2.
  • RunDiffusion account: An account with Omniverse beta access enabled.
  • Plugin: Installed from Window > Extensions in your Omniverse app. There is no separate download.

Use your existing compatible Omniverse app. If you need one, contact our team about a Kit 110.1.2 build before installing the plugin.

Install the RunDiffusion Omniverse plugin

RunDiffusion installs from the Extensions window inside your Omniverse application. There is no separate download or installer.

Step 1: Open the Extensions window

Open your Omniverse application and go to Window > Extensions.

Step 2: Search for RunDiffusion and install it

Search for RunDiffusion, then select Install. If RunDiffusion does not appear in your search, see RunDiffusion does not appear in the Extensions search.

Step 3: Turn on Autoload

Turn on Autoload for RunDiffusion so it loads when the application starts. If the RunDiffusion panel does not appear, enable RunDiffusion in the same window.

Drag the panel to an edge or dock it beside your other tools. To reopen it later, choose RunDiffusion from the Window menu.

Connect RunDiffusion to Omniverse

Select Sign in in the RunDiffusion panel, then follow the instructions in your browser to approve the device. After approval, the panel opens the workspace and keeps you signed in across restarts.

Check which account pays. The BILLED TO line at the bottom of the panel identifies the account charged for each generation. Check it before generating, especially if you belong to more than one group.

Generate from your Omniverse viewport

Step 1: Frame and capture your view

Open Create. Its image field shows your viewport live as you move the camera. Click Capture view to pin the frame you want to use. The captured image stays fixed if you move the camera afterward. You can also capture from a named camera in your scene.

The Create tab with a live viewport preview, the Capture view button, tool, prompt, cost and BILLED TO account.

Step 2: Choose a tool and describe the result

Browse the tool thumbnails by kit or use search. Select a tool, then complete its fields. The cost preview updates as you change the settings.

Step 3: Generate and keep working

Review the cost and BILLED TO account, then click Generate. The run continues in the background while you work in your viewport. Finished results appear at the top of Library.

Hide removes a run from the list. It does not cancel the generation or reverse the charge; the results still arrive.

Use and save your results

Open Library and choose what to do with a finished result.

  • Compare: View a generated image alongside the viewport capture you started with.
  • Use in Create: Use a result as the input for another generation or client revision.
  • Add to stage: Place a generated 3D asset in your scene. It is selected and ready to move; Undo removes the addition.

Save the results you want to keep. Results under This session are temporary and are not saved to your account library. Use Save or Send to RunDiffusion to keep them.

Library and Uploads can each open in a separate window. Your choice to keep either window open separately is remembered next time.

RunDiffusion does not appear in the Extensions search

Check the Extension Registries list in the same window. If no community registry is listed, add one named kit/community with the URL https://dw290v42wisod.cloudfront.net/exts/kit/community. Then search for RunDiffusion again.

The RunDiffusion panel does not appear

Go to Window > Extensions, search for RunDiffusion and enable it. Turn on Autoload so it loads when the application starts.

My account cannot sign in

Omniverse access must be enabled for your RunDiffusion account. Contact our team to confirm access for the account you are using.

Will capturing or generating change my scene?

Capturing a view and generating an image do not change your scene. The viewport returns to its previous state after capture. A generated 3D asset is added only when you choose Add to stage, and you can remove that addition with Undo.

My results are not in my account library
